Conor McGregor's potential transition to bare-knuckle fighting has caught the attention ofBKFCstar Houston Alexander, who believes the Irish fighter would pose a serious challenge in the ring.
Alexander, a seasoned veteran with experience in UFC and Bellator, has been competing without gloves since 2021 and holds McGregor's striking skills in high regard.
The topic arose following McGregor's apparent interest in making the switch after observing Mike Perry's BKFC bout against Luke Rockhold on April 30.
When McGregor stepped into the ring following the fight, his willingness to face Perry without gloves in the future was evident.
McGregor's gloveless inexperience is irrelevant says Alexander
While McGregor lacks experience without gloves, Alexander views it as a non-issue, which is a significant compliment considering Alexander's opinion of most MMA fighters. According to Alexander, MMA competitors who solely focus on kicking or jiu-jitsu should avoid this sport as it would expose their boxing skills and lead to injury.
At 51 years old, Alexander's own fighting career shows no signs of slowing down. With another significant BKFC fight against Jeremy Smith scheduled for May 19, Alexander has no intention of retiring anytime soon.
