Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler will be facing each other in the octagon in the months and will do so in the middleweight division, since then, both have started igniting their rivalry with their bench-pressing capabilities.
Michael Chandler assures Conor McGregor has no power compared to him
During a quick camera moment, Chandler mentioned that McGregor did not do any heavy lifting and claimed that Michael would have no problem winning against him due to the lack of power that McGregor had shown.
Chandler said on the YouTube video handle "He is not stronger than me. So, I don't need to gain weight, I don't need to gain any more strength, I don't need to do any more than what I'm already doing. The dude is not stronger than me. Go out there and show me a video of Conor McGregor lifting heavy, heavy weights. I actually looked before I got on this video; you can't find any videos of this man lifting heavy, heavy weights." He quipped.
This caught the eye of Conor who is not shy to controversy as he's shown with his antics, the former champion started tweeting as a way of clapping back at Chandler with a simple "Lifting belts > Lifting weights".
Then McGregor doubled down on Chandler's assumption stating that "I can bench press ten chandlers."
Meanwhile, fellow athlete Chalen Sonnen believes that McGregor even with his absence from the UFC, will not have a problem with Chandler "Conor has one way to beat Michael Chandler, of which is not gonna matter in the first round."
Sonnen elaborated " Turns out Conor's really good at knocking people out in the first round, but that is his only chance. If this sees the second round... you got totally different odds. If this sees the third round, we don't even have a conversation, for sure Chandler wins. Chandler could lose all ten minutes to get to the third round, but if the third round begins, Chandler wins the fight" he concluded.
