UFC star Marlon "Chito" Vera has issued a scary warning to thieves who broke into his house last weekend.
Vera was busy attempting to win a title at UFC 299 over the weekend, taking on Sean O'Malley. The fight did not go his way, with O'Malley winning by unanimous decision, and things got worse for the veteran fighter.
Chito returned home after his trip to Miami for the fight to find that his home had been broken into. He wrote on Instagram along with a picture of his broken door: "The f****** assh*** that broke into my home, I'm gonna find you."
At this point, there aren't many details about the robbery, and it's unclear to what extent the police are investigating the crime. Though, it is clear that Vera did need to be dealing with the issue this week of all weeks.
The Ecuadorian was dominated in his UFC 299 fight with O'Malley, standing tall to make it to the end of the fight but taking a firm beating from the current title winner.
He said after the fight: "I dream about last night my whole life and fell short at the end of the day. I will be back thanks to my family and team for being by my side. The love of Ecuador was felt more than ever. Thanks for ing me that way I will be back stronger. The belt will be mine one day. Thank you [Ecuador]."
Vera adds context
The fighter went on to add further context to his original post on Instagram, confirming that the thieves did get their hands on some personal items.
"The context is last night there was a robbery," Vera added. "They broke into our house. Though they are material things, they are things that have been bought with a lot of effort and hard work. But hey, these types of things happen."
