- UFC. Joe Rogan calls BS on Conor McGregor saying acting is harder than fighting in the UFC
In the entire UFC, perhaps one of the most contested weight classes in the sport's history is the welterweight division. We've seen some incredible talents go through there over the decades. But out of so many greats in the division, one has stood out above the rest and he is even in the GOAT discussion. Georges St-Pierre has beb in the greatest of all time discussion forever alongside names like Anderson Silva, Jon Jones, and Khabib Nurmagomedov. In the span of 5 years, he defended his title against 9 different opponents between 2008 and 2013. If that wasn't enough, he jumped to the Middleweight division in 2017 to win the title against Michael Bisping. We truly are talking about one of the all time greats.
Dana White picks Kamaru Usman over Georges St-Pierre
But for UFC president Dana White, he is convinced that Kamaru Usman is the best welterweight in UFC history. When he won the belt, he defended the title successfuly five times in the span of two years. This happened between 2019 and 2021. In 2022, he lost the belt against Leon Edwards and lost the rematch after that. But what makes Kamaru Usman so great is the fact that he has been injured in almost every single title defense in which he fought and nobody talks about it. Regardless of how tough he is, saying he is better than Georges St-Pierre is a bold move from Dana. When he said it, it seemed like not even Usman believed what he heard coming out of White's mouth.
There were many hot takes from Dana White during the podcast that Usman and Henry Cejudo just staarted. He talked about Jake Paul fighting Mike Tyson and how he moved one of his son's birth in order to not miss a Chuck Lidell title fight. But he said this man: "When you become a f**king world champion at the UFC, you went through death f**king row of the baddest motherf**kers in the sport, in your division that you could possibly fight. When you talk about a Kamaru Usman, who went through them twice, you might not like Kamaru... but you cannot f**king deny that he's the greatest welterweight of all time... Don't like Kamaru all you want. Whatever you don't like about him, that's your f**king deal. You can't deny it."
