The UFC is continuing with the 304 event that will take place in Manchester, England. The event is taking place on Jly 27 and president Dana White just came out to make the announcement of both the main and co-main events. This is the major event that is taking place right after International Fight Week in June, where Conor McGregor is making his return to the octagon to face Michael Chandler. Dana came out guns blazing and finally gave one of the best welterweights in the business the title shot he was looking for. Also, the co-main event will be a heavyweight fight that wasn't on the bingo card but it's still exciting.
Who is Leon Edwards fighting?
Let's start with the main event, Dana White announced that the welterweight division champion is defending his title once more. British star Leon 'Rocky' Edwards is fighting none other than Belal Muhammad for the belt. For at least a year, Belal had ben clamoring to get his title shot that arrived late but it's finally here. He had been denied multiple times for unknown reasons but Dana White finally gives him a chance to prove himself as one of the best welterweights in the division. There is no better way to do that than by facing the reigning champion at the most hostile environment possible. That's the main event.
Who is Tom Aspinall fighting?
Moving on to the co-main event, Dana White announced that we are getting a Heavyweight fight that will have Brit Tom Aspinall defending his interim title against none other than Curtis Blaydes. We know that Jon Jones is currently the reigning champion but he is recovering from a nasty shoulder tendon injury. While he returns to full fitness, the idea is that Tom Aspinall keeps defending the interim title until we get a winner of Jones vs Miocic. After that, we are getting a unification bout between the interim and the current Heavyweight champion.
