- UFC. Michael Chandler 'attacks' Conor McGregor ahead of fight and questions all his successes
At this point, nobody really has an idea of what is currently happening with Conor McGregor ahead of his UFC 303 fight against Michael Chandler. The MMA Hour's Ariel Helwani has been doing his best to report what is going on but not even he has a clear picture of what's happening. McGregor just deleted an Instagram story that alludes to him potentially being injured but he took it down moment after that. McGregor uloaded a video of himself when he was younger talking about the dangers of going hard during training. This young version of Conor talked about how training should never be too hard because you risk missing out on the big fight. Then moments later, that story was no longer available on McGregor's feed.
Is Conor McGregor injured?
Based on this Instagram story alone, it is currently impossible to know whether he is injured or not. But there are many clues tht point towards something happening before that press conference in Ireland took place. As he let speculation run rampant, there are only a handful of people who actually know what's going on. Here's what Conor said in that resurfaced video: "I think the more resistance you train with, the less movement and the more injury. The less resistance you train with, the more movement and the less injury. A band balances itself. You might be going a little bit lighter, but the positions you wouldn't be if everyone was tense. Everyone was trying to win every round."
But as we told you nefore, McGregor was quick to delete his repost and left his fans with an even greater sense or uncertainty. Even Michael Chandler himself has decided to go back to his family home but he is still training. During interviews, he still shows himself hopeful that the fight can happen but there are so many signs that point at it potentially getting cancelled. Helwani's latest update reads as follows: "UFC is not intentionally trying to drag out this 303 saga. They are burning the midnight oil trying to find a replacement solution. The issue is there aren't a ton of options available right now. If there was they would have announced it all already and moved on."
