In the UFC, there are multiple fighters who are considered legends and are no longer active in the circuit. Many of these fighters are often tempted by Dana White to return for one last dance but most of them reject these offers because they no longer entertin the idea of getting pummelled inside the octagon. But there is a select few of these legendary fighters who are still very kean on the idea of coming back. One of these legends has just been teased by UFC President Dana White and the people who followed this fighter are extremely excited for the potential return to the octagon. But who could this UFC GOAT be? Dana White recently talked about this topic during his interview with Shannon Sharpe.
Dana White teases return of UFC GOAT
As soon as people read the title of this article, they will instantly take their minds to names like Georges St. Pierre or Anderson Silva. Two of the UFC GOATs without a doubt. But Dana White spoke about someone else who is definitely on that list. Take a look at what Dana told Shannon Sharpe during his popular podcast. He says: "I love Amanda Nunes, we have an incredible relationship. She could come back, there's a possibility she could come back. Again, a very unique individual in her own right. A very powerful woman who is looked at as the female GOAT now."
In case you didn't know why Amanda Nunez is considered a UFC GOAT, let's take a closer look at her achievements. Starting her UFC career in 2008, Amanda Nunez absolutely dominated the Featherweight and Bantamweight divisions until her retirement less than a year ago. We are talking about the only woman in UFC history to become a champion in two different weight classes and she did it with style. She retired at the very top and as a champion. This past August, Dana White inducted the Brazilian retired champion into the UFC Hall of Fame. If she returns to the octagon, the featherweight and bantamweight divisions should be wary of her. But the grudge match would be against former teammate Kayla Harrison.
