- UFC. Dana White says Conor McGregor will not return this year and the MMA superstar responds in the bluntest of ways
Michael Chandler was just as fed up as most MMA fans who have been begging Conor McGregor to return to activity. Since he broke his leg, the reality is that the Irishman has been focusing more on his businesses and his millionaire life than in actual mixed martial arts. Although he has been training non-stop, the type of preparation an active UFC fighter needs always requires sacrifices that Conor McGregor simply never made. As a result, we've all been waiting for him to trumphantly return to activity but nobody has been impressed with the way he has handled himself. Michael Chandler is amongst those people who simply had enough and made the decision to fight Charles Oliveira instead. What ever Conor said after this announcement would be met with disbelief. Especially from Chandler.
Michael Chandler goes off against Conor McGregor
Conor McGregor apeared in front of the media saying he has two fights left in his contract and made a plea for an extension to do a cross promotion between the UFC and BKFC. A wild suggestions that makes absolutely no sense and it proves why McGregor's head is clearly not in the right place. Dana White knows how much of a problem this has become and probably wants to give him his last two fights to never have to deal with him again. In a tweet, Conor had the nerve to write: "Chandler saw that takedown getting stuffed and mauled and officially dipped. Little Fat Pussy. I'm at the hard rock hotel Florida for the bare knuckle tonight. Got tested earlier today by DFSI. Give me my fucking date!"
But Chandler wasn't going to let Conor slander him like that and he made a video saying the following: "You are the most unreliable human being that has ever graced mixed martial arts. I'm gonna fight Charles Oliveira. Why am I gonna fight Charles Oliveira? Number 1, it's a bada** fight. Number 2, it's a rematch. It's a redemption story for me. The dude who already stole from me. Rightfully so, in a fight, in a fair fight. He stole my dream, shattered my dreams of becoming UFC champion. Now I get the opportunity to fight Charles Oliveira, become the number 1 contender. But here you have it. MSG, in November, me vs. Charles Oliveira, co-main event, and I'm really, really excited about it."
