- UFC. Alex Pereira is willing to do anything to go to the rescue of the UFC and save cards
- UFC. McGregor, further away from being able to fight again: "The UFC doesn't need him"
At UFC 309, Jon Jones once again proved to the world that he is the greatest fighter of all time by knocking out Stipe Miocic and retaining his heavyweight title. However, between 2021 and 2022 the champion of the category was Francis Ngannou, so there was much speculation about a fight between the two. Unfortunately for many, when Jon Jones wanted to make the step up in division in 2023, the Cameroonian was no longer with the company due to his disagreements with Dana White.
Therefore, Jones fought for the belt vacated by Ngannou against Ciryl Gane, easily defeating him with a guillotine in the first round. The fight between 'Bones' and 'The Predator' has remained the dream of MMA fans to this day, when a war of words between the two on the social network 'X' has revived the hype.
Two fights in four years and you're still one of the biggest names in the sport?
"It's crazy that being called a 'duck' pays you more than most tough guys on the internet will earn in their lifetime. Two fights in four years and you're still one of the biggest names in the sport? That's not ducking anyone, it's winning. God's blessings hit you differently," Jones wrote about those who call him a "duck" for trying to avoid Tom Aspinall. In fact, surely the fight between the two will take place in 2025 and be a huge PPV success if they meet Jones' financial demands.
An unexpected guest
Against all odds, it was neither Aspinall nor Alex Pereira who responded to Jon, but Ngannou himself. The current PFL heavyweight champion has practically no chance of returning to the UFC due to the bad relationship he has with Dana White - the company's boss - but he has left the door open for this fight to happen at some point.
Blessings make haters uncomfortable, but they can't change it.
"Blessings make haters uncomfortable, but they can't change it. There's only one fight, the right fight that will multiply your blessings. #NgannouVSJones," Francis replied with an enigmatic message in which he refers to the amount of money they would both earn if this fight were to take place.
For now, the future of 'Bones' seems to be to defend the belt against Aspinall and then be able to have a super fight against Alex Pereira and fulfill his wishes. However, the possibility of this clash of titans will always be in the range of possibilities before both retire.
