Dana White chimes in on McGregor's potential UFC comeback
McGregor was recently found liable in a civil case for sexual assault brought by Nikita Hand, with an Irish jury awarding $263,000 in damages and legal costs to the claimant.
McGregor has denied the allegations and plans to appeal the verdict, citing dissatisfaction with the evidence presented during the trial.
When asked for his thoughts on the case at the UFC 310 post-fight press conference, White dismissed the question, stating, "What do you mean, what's my reaction? If I had a comment, I would have put it out already."
The former two-division UFC champion has been out of action since 2021, when he suffered a leg break during his trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier.
Despite being slated to fight Michael Chandler in July, that matchup was scrapped after McGregor withdrew due to a toe injury.
His lack of activity has raised questions about his future in the sport.
White, however, did not close the door on McGregor's return.
"He hasn't been fighting here in how long? If he does fight, it will be sometime next year," he said.
McGregor's once-dominant MMA career has hit a rough patch in recent years.
Following a high-profile loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018, he has fought only three times, securing just one victory-a comeback win against Donald Cerrone in 2020.
Back-to-back losses to Poirier have left him outside title contention, and his next move remains unclear.
Speculation surrounding McGregor's return continues to swirl. While he has hinted at potential UFC bouts, including a possible February fight against Dan Hooker, no official announcements have been made.
McGregor also owns a stake in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC), where he has teased competing in the future.
As fans await clarity on McGregor's next steps, White's comments suggest the UFC remains open to his return, albeit without a definitive timeline.
With two fights left on his UFC contract, the 36-year-old remains one of the sport's most polarizing figures, ensuring that any comeback will draw global attention.
