Conor McGregor dramatically breathed life back into his feud with Khabib Nurmagomedov by going after the Dagestani emphasis on grappling and accusing them of lacking brains and hygiene.
The development comes days after Khabib accused Ireland of lacking a vibrant MMA scene or a superstar, the latter being a dig at the Notorious in particular who is known for his showmanship reputation.
It turns out that was not something the 36-year-old Notorious was willing to let slide as he sensationally hit back at Nurmagomedov via social media by attacking his Dagestani culture, a region of Russia in the Caucasus mountains and near the Caspian Sea.
"And all yous a*se lickers around the way years stood on no ground for your own," McGregor posted to X.com, formerly Twitter. "Sickening stuff.
"Look at yous now. You deserve exactly what's there for yous, not a thing. Nothing. Traitorous bums.
"The Yellow teeth's we call ya's. Pea brains in a cage. Panache = zero. Creativity = poop. Wherewithal = fart. Embarrassing to me."
Khabib and McGregor's rivalry
Heated exchanges between the pair is no new phenomena. In their build up to their clash at UFC 299, McGregor verbally attacked Khabib's faith, culture and family and went as far as throwing a trash can at his bus.
Despite having the last day by forcing the man from Dublin to submit in the Octagon, Khabib was so incensed with his team that he scaled the cage to attack Dillon Danis. Fortunately for Danis, who was recently battered by Logan Paul, the teams managed to split the pair up.
Khabib went on to retire in 2021 following the death of his father, thus giving up his UFC Lightweight belt, and transitioned to coaching but the pair have taken shots at each other in the media since.
Most recently, the Russian jabbed at his foe by saying he doesn't rape women. The comment comes after a civil court in Dublin ruled McGregor raped Nikita Hand in 2018, and ordered him to pay 1.5 million Euros ($1.54m dollars) to her.
