- UFC. Topuria's brutal tease to Makhachev: "I'll submit him close to Khabib..."
- UFC. Chandler: The best physique in the UFC and his last chance to stay in the elite
UFC 314 in Miami will be full of big stars. Diego Lopes and Alexander Volkanovski will face off in the main event with the featherweight belt on the line, Michael Chandler and Paddy Pimblett will be the co-main event... and then there's the people's fight: Bryce Mitchell (17-3) vs Jean Silva (15-2). The 'Fighting Nerds' fighter asked 'Thug Nasty' as his first ranked opponent in the featherweight division, and the UFC gave him what he was looking for. Both personalities are quite peculiar, which has caused them to steal the media spotlight from the rest of the card at the official press conference. That said, with the permission of the altercation between Diego Lopes and Yair Rodriguez.
In the face-off, everything has already happened. While Silva barked in Mitchell's face to intimidate him, the American kept his gaze imive. Not a flinch. With a microphone in between, things changed. "I kill a lot of dogs in my day to day life. They come to try to kill my animals. Do you know what they have in common? That they all scream before they die," 'Thug Nasty' told him about those barks.
I was born with brain damage, I'll be fine
Without a doubt, Bryce was the MVP of a press conference in which he was asked about the Brazilian's words in which he claims that Mitchell will suffer a lot of damage. "I was born with brain damage, I'll be fine," he joked. He was in his element, with a smile on his face at all times and total confidence in himself, just as he was when it came to making weight on the scales.
Jean Silva gives weight to the second
Silva did not have such a good time when it came to making weight, as on his first attempt he weighed 147 pounds, one more than the allowed limit. It should be ed that when it is not a championship fight, fighters can exceed the stipulated weight by one pound -145 in this case-. While his weight was being determined, Silva said that he would come back later to weigh 146, and so he did.
A few minutes before the end of the weigh-in, 'Lord' appeared again in better shape, weighing in at 146 pounds and pronouncing his opponent's name. Once the fight was confirmed, all that remains is to wait for Saturday night for them to collide in the octagon, in what will be a war between the Brazilian's striking and the American's grappling.
