It's not going to happen unless there's a major twist... but Nate Diaz (21-31) has surprised everyone with statements in which he talks about returning to the UFC, at the age of 40, to fight Conor McGregor (22-6), Max Holloway (26-8) or even Ilia Topuria (16-0).

"I plan on going back to the UFC. Conor and I have unfinished business. It has to happen. I would like to fight Max Holloway or Ilia Topuria for the BMF," he said in a recent interview with 'The HJR Podcast'.

The American, therefore, is one of those who thinks that the 'Matador' could be the BMF as he knocked out Max Holloway in Abu Dhabi... although that belt was not at stake. In fact, it will be contested at UFC 318 with the retirement fight and the closing of the trilogy between Dustin Poirier (30-9) and Max himself. For 'official' purposes, therefore, the Hawaiian is still the 'Baddest Mother Fucker' in the UFC.

Nate Diaz's possible return would certainly be interesting news for UFC fans, who have long been waiting for the end of his intense duel with Conor McGregor: both are tied 1-1 in one of the most iconic rivalries in MMA history. However, the reality is that the return to the cage of either one (Nate or Conor) seems unfeasible

Similarly, it could be said that Ilia and Holloway, especially the 'Matador', who can be a double UFC champion, are now in 'another dimension' that Nate Diaz would hardly access in 2025.
