TV host James Corden has been under fire for several months for various reasons, either his off-camera behavior or his statements, so there is a good sector of viewers who do not want to see him on their screens.
Corden, who is British, is now part of the bets for the match between the U.S. and England soccer teams, as several fans have requested that the loser stays with him forever, and does not let him leave the borders.
Let Corden stay in the losing country
The dislike of several fans for Corden is palpable in both his native England and the USA, so much so that they want the losing country to keep him. "If England beats USA on Friday, then they have to keep James Corden permanently," tweeted one .
"Loser of USA vs England gets to keep James Corden and Piers Morgan," noted another. "Now that's a much bigger prize than lifting any World Cup," wrote a third.
The host's recent controversies
The "Late Late Show" host recently made headlines after he treated the staff of a New York restaurant, Balthazar, badly, whose owner Keith McNally ended up banning him for a few days. He later removed his veto, following James Corden's public apology.
"James Corden just called me and apologized profusely," McNally wrote in an Instagram post. "Having screwed up more than most people, I'm a firm believer in second chances."
Days later, Corden was accused of stealing a joke from Ricky Gervais in 2018, an accusation the 44-year-old actor has denied.
The World Cup match between England and the United States is scheduled for Friday, November 25.
