The two Argentine fans who were seen posing topless at the World Cup final in Lusail Stadium have managed to escape the country, where their behaviour was against local laws.
There were various reports that they faced a possible jail sentence and that they were escorted out of the stadium, but it has now emerged that both fans managed to leave the country without too many issues.
One of them, whose Instagram handle is @noe.dreams1, confirmed that she managed to board a plane out of the country and reach Europe.
"I managed to escape Qatar and find refuge in the European Union," she said.
The other woman has the Instagram handle of @milubarbiie_ and also used Instagram to explain that she had made it to Europe.
The preparation for the topless World Cup celebrations
On those two Instagram s, @noe.dreams1 and @milubarbiie_ also shared images of how they prepared for the final, covering their breasts in blue and white paint.
That went against the guidelines issued by Qatari authorities before the World Cup, as guests were advised to cover the stomach and shoulders, and that skirts, dresses and tros should cover the knees.
Any tight-fitting clothes and low-cut necklines were also discouraged, with both men and women told to show respect for the local culture by avoiding excessively revealing clothing in public.
