Resurfaced lingerie photos of Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese have reignited controversy on social media. The images, taken during a photoshoot last year following Reese's NCAA championship win with the LSU Tigers, were initially posted on Instagram but later deleted.
However, they've resurfaced, going viral on X, and prompting a range of reactions from ers and critics alike.
In the photos, the 22-year-old forward confidently poses in lingerie, but while some applauded her for embracing her femininity and body confidence, others were less ive.
Some fans were quick to point out what they perceived as a contradiction between the images and Reese's previous statements urging others not to sexualize her. A few s expressed disappointment, suggesting that a professional athlete of her caliber shouldn't engage in such photoshoots.

Despite the mixed reactions, Angel Reese had a stellar rookie season with the Chicago Sky. She led the WNBA in rebounds, averaging 13.1 per game, along with 13.6 points and 1.3 steals. Unfortunately, her season was cut short after 34 games due to a wrist injury, just as the team missed out on a playoff berth.
Reese has never shied away from expressing her confidence in both her body and personal style. She has emphasized that embracing her own identity and expressing her sexuality through fashion does not equate to giving others permission to objectify her.
After her final collegiate season, Reese addressed the issue, acknowledging that dealing with public opinion is difficult, but she vowed to stay true to herself on and off the court.
"I've been attacked so may times, death threats, I've sexualized, I've been threatened, I've been so many things, and I've stood strong every single time," she noted.
