- Canelo Alvarez: What did he say to Golovkin after the fight?
Saul Alvarez defeated Gennady Golovkin by unanimous decision, in a fight that was disappointing for its lack of intensity and the excessive caution of both fighters, which left several experts unhappy.
Among those was Oscar de la Hoya, who has old quarrels with Canelo and did not hold anything back by calling the fight a "fraud".
Through a story on his Instagram , Canelo's former promoter said that he was about to fall asleep until "his partner grabbed his ass".
"The truth is that everyone is afraid to tell the truth, the fight was a fraud. GGG is very old and Canelo can't even hold Hopkins' jock strap," said De la Hoya.
Canelo beat GGG, but not by knockout as promised. The Mexican justified his performance by saying in the interview at the end of the fight that he has had a problem with his left hand for several months and that it will take him some time to recover and rest.
De la Hoya has history with Canelo
Oscar de la Hoya was Alvarez's promoter. In fact, he represented him at the time of the first two fights of the trilogy and prior to the fight, he wished them luck and sent them a message that it would be a good fight.
This is not the first time De la Hoya has had a go at Canelo's work. He also had an opinion after the loss to Dmitry Bivol, stating that he should concentrate more on boxing and dedicate less time to playing golf.
