It was a very embarrassing day on Friday for Zurdo Ramirez after he failed to make the weight for his next fight against Gabriel Rosado.
The fight was supposed to take place on Saturday but it has had to be cancelled as he did not meet the agreed weight. He last fought when he lost his undefeated record to Dmitry Bivol, so this only adds to what has been a very tough spell for Ramirez.
On his social networks, the fighter from Sinaloa Mexico apologized to the fans and said that he is not in the best moment of his life, but he will try to overcome adversity.
His promoter, Oscar de la Hoya, also sent him a warning on social media. In a video through his Instagram , the "Golden Boy" ed a video in training titled 'DISCIPLINE'.
"First I want to apologize to all the fans. It's uncomfortable and unprofessional. I feel bad because we all wanted to see Rosado and Lefty. I think Rosado deserves another show," began the promoter.
Later, prior to the fight between Joseph Diaz and Mercito Gesta, De la Hoya expressed his annoyance for the cancellation of the bout:
"El Zurdo should think about what he really wants to do. If he wants to stay in boxing or if it's too hard to get in. He has a lot to think about." He even suggested to him, "Why not move up in class and fight Badou Jack, it would be a great fight."
