The Bud, Welterweight and Super Welterweight champion has the of Sheikh Turki Alalshikh to negotiate a potential fight with Alvarez (61-2-2).
Canelo opens the door to Terence Crawford
Canelo spoke to Boxing Scene about the possibility of facing Terence Crawford (41-0), who would have to fight Sebastian Fundora by order of the World Boxing Organization (WBO).
"I'm not saying that fight (with Crawford) can't happen. The order doesn't matter," said the Jalisco native.
Canelo, who reigns supreme in the Super Middleweight division, previously commented that Turki Alalshikh wanted to negotiate a duel against Crawford in February 2025 and the Mexican said he could accept the proposal for about 150 million dollars.
Eddie Hearn: If it's not Canelo, Crawford doesn't fight again
Promoter Eddie Hearn who represents Crawford's last opponent, Israil Madrimov, Canelo and several of his rivals, thinks that Crawford should fight Canelo at 36 years old or retire.
"I don't think he will fight Vergil Ortiz and he won't do a rematch with Madrimov. He definitely won't fight Boots (Jaron Ennis). So who are you going to fight? I don't think he will fight Fundora," Hearn said to KO Artist Sports.
"He's made a lot of money and he's not interested in fights that will bring him a fortune or that he's really excited about and the one he's excited about is Canelo. If he can't get that fight, I don't think he'll fight again."
