The tension of a Grand Prix race in Formula One can push anyone into an argument, but Lewis Hamilton has revealed that he only bickers with his engineer, Andrew Shovlin.
The British driver was speaking about how the team at Mercedes operate, and how his rapport with one engineer in particular helps him.
"One of my engineers, Shov, will say 'You're not always right, right. You've just gotta accept that you're not always right'," Hamilton explained.
"And that's one of the things that I struggle with.
"I argue and argue and argue, but then I'll say 'Yep, okay. You were right.'
"We've known each other for 11 years, we've had an amazing relationship, but we argue a lot.
"Me and him are the only ones that argue here [at Mercedes]."
Hamilton on his relationship with his engineers
Hamilton went on to explain that he is not like that with everyone, but does enjoy a strong working relationship with his engineer Shovlin.
"Me and Shov, it's still a great like... fantastic relationship, but I'm always challenging him like 'Yeah but Shov, what about this? What about that? Are you sure?'
"And then he comes back and I'm like 'I'm sure you're wrong'.
"So he took off a race, I think he was at home for the last race.
"And I was like 'Where's Shov? I don't have anyone to argue with!"
Hamilton on the Las Vegas GP
This weekend, Hamilton will take on a testing new circuit in Nevada as F1 heads to Las Vegas.
"I don't understand how we're going to move around that place," he reflected.
"I don't know how I'm going to get from the track to the hotel.
"It's going to be such a compact spot, so many people, but I think it's going to be a wild experience.
"I think the best thing is just to go with an open mind, not having any judgement, [any] predetermined ideas of what it's going to be like and just take it all in when you get there.
"Driving in that light, I'm going to feel like I'm in the Casino movie."
Unlike tradition, the race will start at 10pm local time on Saturday night.
