Max Versttapen wins the GP but is Oscar Piastri future's really at risk?

Max Verstappen returnedn to the top in the 2025 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix with a solid performance from start to finish. The Red Bull driver controlled the race in Imola without any real threats and picked up another win that strengthens his position as the championship favorite. It was one of those Sundays where everything went his way.

Oscar Piastri, meanwhile, finished third in a race that left mixed feelings. While a podium is always a positive result, it didn't quite reflect the level he had been showing in previous rounds, where he stood out as one of the strongest and most consistent drivers on the grid. There was even talk that he had been outperforming his teammate Lando Norris within Mclaren.

That's why Imola feels more like a small misstep than a warning sign. Piastri has had a strong start to the season, and his pace has made it clear he belongs at the front.

Sometimes races just don?t go your way and even then, he managed to bring home a podium which says a lot about his ability to score big even on tougher days.

Now all eyes turn to Monaco, one of the most iconic races on the calendar. It?ll be a chance to see if Verstappen is truly back in full force... or if Piastri can regain the momentum he had been building. On the tight streets of the Principality, anything can happen and every corner will be a test of who?s ready to write the next chapter.
