Monterrey dominated the first half and great part of the second, but they only managed to score one goal in the 90 minutes as they failed to score three penalties and Pumas beat them from 12 yards after a 1-1 tie in regulation as UNAM secured a spot in the knockout stageof the Leagues Cup.
