Al Ahly trained in Rabat on Tuesday, on the eve of their FIFA Club World Cup semi-final.

'The Red Devils' are bidding to make it third time lucky as they take on Real Madrid after losing 2-0 at this stage at the last two CWC tournaments - against Bayern Munich and Palmeiras respectively.

Marcel Koller's men needed an 88th-minute winner to beat CONCACAF Champions League winners Seattle Sounders 1-0 to get this far, but the Spanish champions are likely to provide an altogether different test.

However, playing in North Africa might give Al Ahly a small advantage as they will be familiar with the conditions and have been in Morocco for longer than their opponents.

They are also on an unbeaten run of 23 matches - Real in contrast have not been firing on all cylinders recently.

As well as injury concerns in the Real squad, especially surrounding Karim Benzema and centre-back Eder Militao, Real suffered a surprise 1-0 La Liga defeat to Mallorca on Sunday.

Los Blancos have a very strong record in the Club World Cup though and are eyeing a fifth title afollowing their triumphs in 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
