Diddy files huge lawsuit against NBC over explosive documentary

Sean "Diddy" Combs has taken legal action against NBCUniversal, filing a $100 million lawsuit over allegations made in Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy, a documentary aired on Peacock.

The lawsuit claims the film falsely accuses him of involvement in the death of Kim Porter and inappropriate relationships with underage women.

According to TMZ, in the lawsuit Diddy asserts that the documentary spreads "malicious" accusations regarding Porter's ing, despite the Los Angeles County Coroner's official ruling that she died of natural causes.

He argues that NBCUniversal is irresponsibly promoting baseless conspiracy theories that suggest a connection between him and the deaths of individuals within his circle.

The lawsuit also refutes claims that Diddy engaged in sexual activity with minors, stating that these allegations stem from a discredited civil lawsuit. Two women mentioned in the claims have since come forward, confirming they were adults at the time of the alleged incident.

Diddy's legal team states that his representatives were informed in December 2024 that the documentary would explore theories of his supposed involvement in the deaths of Porter and rapper Notorious B.I.G.

His attorneys immediately dismissed these allegations as "unequivocally false" and urged NBCUniversal to reconsider airing the content.

Legal Battle Intensifies as NBC Remains Silent

Diddy's lawyers reportedly reached out again after the release of the documentary's trailer on January 2, 2025, requesting that NBC retract the claims. The lawsuit states that the network did not respond, leading to the defamation case now in motion.

His attorney, Erica Wolff, issued a statement condemning NBCUniversal's decision to air the documentary: "In making and broadcasting these falsehoods, among others, Defendants seek only to capitalize on the public's appetite for scandal without any regard for the truth and at the expense of Mr. Combs's right to a fair trial.

"Mr. Combs brings this lawsuit to hold Defendants able for the extraordinary damage their reckless statements have caused."

Diddy, who has faced increasing scrutiny due to ongoing federal investigations and multiple civil cases, insists that the allegations against him are baseless and part of a broader attempt to tarnish his reputation.

His legal team is seeking at least $100 million in damages, aiming to hold the media giant able for what he claims is reckless defamation.
