- Michelle Obama premieres podcast with brother Craig Robinson: "We are living in complicated times"
Former First Lady Michelle Obama recently opened up about one of her husband's habits that has been a source of frustration over the years. During the premiere episode of her new podcast, "IMO," co-hosted with her brother Craig Robinson, Michelle humorously discussed Barack Obama's struggle with punctuality, giving listeners a glimpse into their everyday lives.
"Barack, you know, he had to adjust to what on time was for me," Michelle shared, revealing that her husband had to make changes to accommodate her preference for punctuality. Craig Robinson, referencing Barack's Hawaiian roots, added with a laugh, "Because he was on that island time."
Michelle recounted how, when it was time to leave, she would often notice Barack getting up and going to the bathroom or doing other tasks that could potentially make them late. "I was like, 'Dude, a 3 o'clock departure means you've done all that,' you know, it's like, don't start looking for your glasses at the 3 o'clock departure," she explained.
What was the new life
Despite the initial challenges, Michelle gave Barack kudos for working on this flaw over their 30 years of marriage. "He's improved over 30 years of marriage, but that was a 'you must adjust,'" she acknowledged.
The podcast also touched on how Michelle's emphasis on punctuality has influenced their daughters, Malia Obama, 26, and Sasha Obama, 23. "They've learned how to snap to it," Michelle said, noting that her daughters are "early" whenever they are "doing anything" with her.
Michelle's candid and lighthearted revelations provide a relatable insight into the dynamics of her marriage with Barack, showcasing the everyday adjustments that even high-profile couples make. Her ability to share these moments with humor and authenticity resonates with listeners and offers a glimpse into the personal side of the Obamas' relationship.
