England is planning to "invade" the United States. With Donald Trump's return to the White House, the Buckingham Palace has decided that it is time for King Charles III to make his first official visit to American soil in a "charm offensive" to strengthen ties between the two nations.

Since ascending to the throne in September 2022, King Charles has made nine official tours to countries such as , Kenya, the United Arab Emirates, and Australia, among others. Following his cancer diagnosis last year, the monarch was forced to suspend much of his activities, including trips abroad.

However, Trump's election for a new term seems the perfect opportunity for the King to also resume his international commitments. In this case, the royal house has chosen a phased approach to facilitate rapprochement between the two parties.}

First Canada, then the US

According to information from the Mirror newspaper, King Charles and Queen Camilla will first travel to Canada, marking the monarch's first visit there since ascending to the throne, and then embark on their tour of the United States.

The tour is reportedly planned for the first half of next year, most likely in the spring. It should be noted that in 2026, the United States will celebrate the 250th anniversary of its independence, adding another layer of interest to the British monarch's visit.

Charles had already met Trump during the latter's first term. However, this will be the first time they have met since Charles became King.

Buckingham Palace has remained silent on the visit

Despite press reports, the Royal Visits Committee has not confirmed the tour, but the Mirror noted that it could be on the agenda of the next meeting between representatives of Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace, and Foreign Affairs officials.

The paper said the UK government has already begun talks about a possible Trump trip to Britain at some point during his new four-year term, but there is no set date for that either. With Donald Trump's foreign policy hardening, this would be the best time to strengthen his ties with his closest allies.
