Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has candidly discussed the challenges of balancing her professional commitments with motherhood.

In a recent appearance on The Jamie Kern Lima Show, she revealed that she has had the of an "amazing" nanny for her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, for the past five years. This assistance has been invaluable in managing her daily routines and responsibilities.

Despite her privileged position, Meghan expressed that the demands of motherhood and work can be overwhelming. She shared that on some mornings, her nanny helps by taking the children to their respective schools, allowing her to focus on her professional obligations. This enables her to manage her time effectively and maintain a balance between her personal and professional life.

A glimpse into her morning routine

Meghan provided insight into her typical morning routine, highlighting the importance of being present for her children. She wakes up at 6:30 a.m. to prepare for the day ahead. After getting herself ready, she wakes her daughter, Lilibet, and ensures she is dressed and downstairs.

About half an hour later, she wakes her son, Archie, and with the help of her husband, Prince Harry, they get him ready for the day. Meghan emphasizes that making breakfast for her family is a cherished part of her morning, as it sets a positive tone for the day.

In addition to her morning routine, Meghan has shared personal touches that reflect her deep connection with her children. She has created "time capsule" email s for Archie and Lilibet, to which she sends nightly messages filled with photos and anecdotes. These emails are intended for her children to read when they are older, serving as a digital scrapbook of their early years.

"I love doing lunch boxes, it makes me very happy and writing a little note in their lunch boxes... If I don't have meetings in the morning then I try to do school drop off," said Meghan.

"They're at two different schools, so that's a big circuit. So from 6:30 in the morning on drop-off mornings for me I'm not home till 9. And then after that I'll just jump into meetings.

"And then on other days, I'll wake up and get them all set and then our amazing nanny who's been with us for five years, she'll take them to school for us."

Furthermore, Meghan has been open about the emotional aspects of motherhood. She has discussed the challenges of caring for sick children and the emotional toll it takes. Despite these challenges, she finds strength in her role as a mother and cherishes the moments spent with her family.

Navigating public perception

While Meghan's openness about her experiences has been praised by many, it has also sparked discussions about the relatability of her narrative. Some critics argue that her circumstances differ significantly from those of the guests she features on her podcast, raising questions about the universality of her experiences.

Nevertheless, Meghan continues to use her platform to share her journey, offering a glimpse into the realities of balancing motherhood and a demanding career.
