Talking about burger chains in Europe is always to resort to the big American companies, the king, the clown or the colonel as the big companies that always conquer the stomachs of anyone who goes to one of their establishments. However, these restaurant chains, which are very popular in Europe, are not the only ones, and in the United States there are many others that have either not reached The Old Continent, or when they did, their landing was not successful.
In this case we are referring to a company with more than 90 years of history. It was founded in 1932 in Tennessee, its name is Krystal and it has been visited by famous people and presidents such as Elvis Presley, Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan.
Very famous for its mini hamburgers and hot dogs with cheese and chili
This company, which had gone more than a decade without opening a single store in the United States, has now changed its business strategy and is now back on the opening spree. The first one was on April 15 in Tyler, Texas, with a space that opens 24 hours. And this is just the beginning, as the chain's managers have announced that over the next three to four years, the popular ribbon cutting is going to be seen about 200 times.
It should be ed that Krystal filed for bankruptcy in January 2020 after exceeding $100 million in debt, but the change came when it was acquired by Fortress Investment Group, the parent company of SPB Hospitality. From that moment on, growth has been remarkable, sales have improved and, in principle, any possible closure plans that may have existed have vanished.
The entry of this new company has meant an improvement in almost all aspects of Krystal, as they have modernized with digital menus and drive-thru improvements, demonstrating that the company has not stagnated, but seeks to attract both new customers and those who its flavors from decades ago.
