The Department of Veterans Affairs has outlined its 2025 disability compensation schedule, giving veterans and their families a clear roap for when to expect their monthly benefits.
These payments, which provide crucial financial for many veterans, follow a standard pattern based on the business calendar - but slight adjustments are sometimes made if holidays or weekends interfere.
Veterans can also celebrate a 2.5% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for 2025, which officially took effect with the December 31, 2024 payment. The increase means that starting this year, veterans are seeing a modest but important boost to their monthly benefits.
For those wondering about the deposit, veterans should expect their VA disability check for May 2025 to arrive on Friday, May 30, 2025.

Veterans who receive direct deposit will see payments processed on these dates. Those receiving paper checks should allow additional mailing time.
In addition to standard VA disability benefits, some veterans and their families may qualify for additional compensation through programs such as Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC), Special Monthly Compensation (SMC), and Veterans or Survivors Pension payments.
These programs also reflect the 2.5% COLA increase in 2025.
The VA's updated compensation rates for a single veteran without dependents now range from $175.51 for a 10% disability rating to $3,831.30 for a 100% rating.
Veterans relying on these benefits for everyday expenses - from housing to healthcare - can better plan their monthly budgets thanks to the VA's consistent scheduling.
If a veteran experiences any delay or issue with their payment, they are encouraged to the VA directly.
