Severe weather that caused flooding, landslides and mudslides since April 2 in 24 counties in the state of Kentucky has affected a large number of people, who today need help to alleviate the impact on their economy after the events.

This reality is not alien to the state government, nor to the federal government headed by President Donald Trump, who approved a major disaster declaration for those 24 counties in early May, so there will be some benefits for its inhabitants.

Citizens of Breckenridge, Bullitt, Calloway, Daviess, Garrard, Grayson, Hancock, Hart, Henderson, Henry, Jefferson, LaRue, Lincoln, McLean, Meade, Muhlenberg, Nelson, Ohio, Oldham, Pendleton, Powell, Trimble, Warren and Webster will be able to benefit from the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP), according to statements from Governor Andy Beshear, who instructed the D-SNAP office and the Cabinet for Health and Family Services to offer short-term food assistance to all families affected by the natural disaster.

When can I apply for D-SNAP in Kentucky?

Applications for the program are already open from Thursday, May 22 until May 29, except for Saturday, Sunday and Monday. For this reason, it is important that applicants the Department of Community Services D-SNAP call center at 1-855-306-8959.
