Haley Cavinder, the influential college basketball player known for her on-and-off-court success, has decided to make a major shift in her college career.

After an announced retirement from NCAA basketball earlier this year, she's now declared her commitment to return for her final year of eligibility, choosing to play for the TCU women's basketball program.

The 22-year-old athlete shared the news on social media, unveiling her new affiliation through a photo shoot sporting the Horned Frogs' gear.

Her caption, "The last rodeo #committed," symbolized her commitment to this chapter in her basketball career.

Her sister, Hanna, seemed ive, indicating her endorsement through social media with enthusiastic posts cheering on Haley's new journey.

The Cavinder twins, with an immense social media following, have switched colleges before.

They transferred to the University of Miami from Fresno State in 2022 and played an integral part in the Hurricanes' Elite Eight team last spring.

Haley's new life at TCU

Cavinder candidly reflected on her career in an interview with Forbes citing that her decision to return was propelled by a deep, internal motivation saying: "I think ending it with Hanna and announcing that we were done and not going to take our fifth year, I felt - honestly, to be very transparent - a lot of pressure".

She continued: "There was nothing filling the love for the game, and I just truly was like, I know I'm going to regret it down the road if I don't go back."

Last season with the Hurricanes, Haley averaged 12.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game and earned All-ACC honors.

Haley's surprising decision has also added intrigue due to her personal life.

She's romantically linked to Dallas Cowboys' tight end Jake Ferguson, which could provide context for her relocation to Texas, evident in social media posts, jersey sharing, and recent Instagram stories hinting at their relationship.

For fans and followers, it's an unanticipated shift, and for the forthcoming season, it will mark the first time that one of the Cavinders will be playing without the other.

As Haley embarks on this new phase of her collegiate basketball career, all eyes will be on her and her impact on the TCU women's basketball program.
