The Colorado Buffaloes, coached by Deion Sanders, have climbed to 18th in the AP College Football Poll. They entered the poll two weeks ago at No. 21 after beating Cincinnati to clinch bowl eligibility. Over the weekend, they continued their strong season with a 41-27 win over Texas Tech, the alma mater of Patrick Mahomes. With a spot in the new 12-team playoff format in sight, the Buffaloes are looking to finish at least 12th in the poll. To do so, they need to win their final three games. Considering Texas Tech was their toughest remaining opponent, their path to a top-12 finish looks achievable.

Shedeur Sanders Rises to No. 1 NFL Draft Prospect

With the Buffaloes' strong season, a new favorite for the top overall pick in the NFL Draft has emerged. That No. 1? None other than Shedeur Sanders, the quarterback and son of head coach Deion Sanders, who could be selected even earlier than his father, despite not being as good as him, when he went fifth overall to the Atlanta Falcons in 1989. Sanders now sits at +200 on FanDuel and most other betting sites as the top draft prospect.

Sanders currently leads quarterbacks like Cam Ward (+750), Jaxson Dart (+1500) and Jalen Milroe (+2200). And right behind him is Deion's favorite, two-way sensation Travis Hunter, who is the second favorite for the No. 1 spot at +340. These two Buffaloes stars are making waves with their remarkable seasons - a feat largely due to Deion's transformative leadership in turning around a team that finished last year with a 4-8 record.

Cam Ward vs. Shedeur Sanders: A Race for the NFL's No. 1 Pick

On the season, Shedeur Sanders ranks sixth in ing yards (2,882), while his friend from the University of Miami, Cam Ward, leads the way with 3,494 yards. Sanders also ranks third in ing touchdowns with 24, while Ward again leads with 32. If Ward, who plays on a stronger team, goes farther than Sanders this year, he could potentially unseat Sanders as the higher draft pick.
