Colorado Buffaloes' superstars Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders will go down in history ast two of the best player to ever put in the school's uniform, as they made a giant impact during their two seasons in Boulder.
Under Deion Sanders aka "Coach Prime" leadership, the quarterback and the wide receiver/cornerback helped colorado exceed expectations and helped Colorado finish the season with a 9-3 record (7-2 in the Big 12 Conference), representing the Buffaloes' first non-Covid winning season since 2016.
Shedeur Sanders set new school records in completion percentage (74.2%), ing yards (3,926) and touchdown es (35), just to name a few accomplishments.
Meanwhile, Travis Hunter is the odds-on favorite to win Colorado's second Heisman Trophy after dominating on both sides of the field. He finished the regular season with 11 es defended, four interceptions and one forced fumble on defense while adding 92 catches for 1,152 yards and a school-record 14 receiving touchdowns.
That's why Pro Football Focus puts Hunter and Saunders as the No. 1 and No. 2 favorites for the NFL Draft 2025, with the wide receiver/cornerback going to the Jacksonville Jaguars and Sanders going to the New York Giants.
To hype up the process, Deion Sanders posted a video on Instagram where he shows both of his superstars dancing to Bee Gees' classic "Stayin' Alive". "Let them talk all the way to the draft." wrote "Coach Prime".
Deion Sanders asks NFL coach to select Shedeur Sanders
As his draft stock rises, Shedeur Sanders recently made headlines for a statement that got NFL fans talking. While attending a ceremony in Las Vegas, where he accepted the 2024 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award,Sanders stood side-by-side with Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce and sent a clear message.
"Now I just need you to do one thing," Deion Sanders noted. "I need you to draft those Sanders boys next year."
The crowd responded with cheers, and Pierce playfully replied, "Where they at? Where they at?" This lighthearted exchange has fueled speculation that Shedeur could be bound for Las Vegas, especially with the Raiders currently holding the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
With a 2-10 record, the Las Vegas Raiders are currently on track to secure a Top 5 pick in the draft. While the draft order is still subject to change as the season progresses, the Raiders are in prime position to select a future franchise quarterback.
Shedeur's production on the field speaks for itself. Through 12 games this season, he has thrown for an impressive 3,926 yards, 35 touchdowns and just eight interceptions.
His commitment to his Colorado teammates has also earned him widespread respect. While many top prospects sit out of bowl games to avoid risking injury before the draft, Shedeur has made it clear that he'll be suiting up for the Buffaloes' bowl game.
