Despite a season-ending loss for the Colorado Buffaloes and their hopes of a Big 12 Title Game, Travis Hunter's sensational year continues to capture the nation's attention. The Buffs crushed the Cowboys 52-0 in their final game, but it's Hunter who stole the show.
With a stunning two-way performance, capped off by a bold Heisman Trophy campaign in New York City's Times Square, Hunter has solidified his status as one of college football's most electrifying players.
Hunter's final regular-season game showcased his unmatched versatility. The cornerback and wide receiver hauled in 116 receiving yards, scored three touchdowns, and added an interception on defense.
His season-long stats back up the hype: 14 touchdowns, 92 receptions for 1,152 yards, four interceptions, 11 es deflected and 31 tackles. Unsurprisingly, these remarkable numbers earned him the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year award.
To cap off the season, the Buffs launched a Heisman campaign for Hunter, featuring him on billboards in Times Square. One ad, in partnership with Boost Mobile, showcased Hunter striking the iconic Heisman pose with the tagline, "TRAVIS HUNTER IS HIM."
Another billboard labeled him "THE MOST OUTSTANDING PLAYER IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL," highlighting his dominance on both offense and defense.
Hunter himself was stunned by the display, commenting, "That's me" on CU Buffs Football's Instagram post.
Hunter and Shedeur: A Dynamic Duo
Hunter has been vocal about Shedeur's exclusion from Heisman discussions, expressing frustration with the perceived slight.
In a statement celebrating their shared success, Hunter said, "Guess what? They're all gonna be mad because he's still gonna be there. [If] I get invited, he gets invited. No matter if they didn't invite him. [If] I walk on that stage, he might walk on that stage. So, at the end of the day, we both won."
As Heisman finalists prepare to be announced, all eyes are on Travis Hunter and the unique case he's made for himself as a two-way player. While Shedeur's omission is controversial, Hunter's dominance has become impossible to ignore.
