Deion Sanders has only one condition to leave Colorado and coach in NFL according to Robert Griffin III

Sanders has been linked to the Dallas Cowboys organization.

Deion Sanders will quit the Colorado Buffaloes and coach in the National Football League on the condition that the team drafts his son, Shedeur, as Coach Prime bids to stay close to the 22-year-old according to Robert Griffin III.

The speculation comes after the 57-year-old found himself linked to the Dallas Cowboys and Las Vegas Raiders after an impressive campaign with the Buffaloes in the NCAA, leading them to a 9-3 record and fourth-place in the Big 12.

So he's a hot commodity at the moment, although it's unclear if he will make his return to the NFL yet or remain within college football when his son is inevitably picked in the 2025 Draft but Griffin III thinks the former option will come with conditions.

"If he has an opportunity to coach his son? Yes," Griffin III told Sports Illustrated. "I think that's the only way Deion takes an NFL coaching job.

"He's built something at Colorado that is going to be a consistent winner now. I don't think he leaves that to coach somebody else. But if he has an opportunity to coach Shedeur and Shilo and probably try to sneak Travis in there.

"I don't know if that's going to happen. If he has a chance to go coach Shedeur, I think he will be. If not, I think he stays at Colorado."

Travis Hunter tips Sanders to remain in Colorado

So with a lot of speculation surrounding Coach Prime's future, what do those who are close to him actually think?

It's the view of his star wide receiver and cornerback, Travis Hunter, that he won't be surrendering the helm at Folsom Field ahead of the 2025 college football season just yet.

"I got a lot of insight. He's going to be right where he's at right now," Hunter told reporters in New York City on December 13.
