Leanna Lenee, fiancée of Colorado football star Travis Hunter, is speaking out against online critics after receiving backlash for her behavior during Hunter's Heisman Trophy moment. In an emotional TikTok video posted Monday, Lenee addressed accusations that she appeared disinterested and upset during the ceremony, calling the criticism "ridiculous" and driven by misinformation.

The controversy began when a video showed Lenee seemingly hesitating to stand after Hunter's name was announced. Fans also scrutinized another clip where she looked upset as Hunter interacted with others at a celebratory event.

Lenee explains her side of the story

In her nearly eight-minute response, Lenee clarified the situation, stating she purposefully chose to stay out of the camera's view to let Hunter and his family have their moment.

"When his name was called, I instantly was going to get up," Lenee said. "But if you watch the video, his mom didn't get up, so I thought, 'Oh, maybe I just sit here.' As soon as I saw Travis get up, I stood up to congratulate him."

She continued, "I got out of the camera shot on purpose because I knew how people online would twist the moment. I wanted it to be about him and his family."

Hunter, a standout wide receiver and cornerback for the Buffaloes, later defended Lenee during a Twitch livestream, blasting the haters.

"You ain't never had no girl, so why y'all talking about me?" Hunter said. "Find someone else to talk about... We're inseparable. If she's hurting, I'm hurting."

Hunter also revealed Lenee cried herself to sleep after the backlash, emphasizing the emotional toll the negativity had taken on her.

Lenee also addressed other viral moments throughout the football season, including accusations that she was angry about Hunter celebrating with cheerleaders after a game. She clarified that the situation stemmed from security preventing families from ing players on the field.

"People are making up stories, and it's truly crazy," Lenee said. "Bird-brained individuals believe everything they see online."
