The Arizona State standout is garnering plenty of interest

It looks as though the running back position, which for years had seemingly fallen out of favour in the NFL, is returning with a bang.

After standout campaigns from names like Saquon Barkley and Derrick Henry, plenty of teams are taking a long hard look at the running backs set to enter the league at the NFL Draft.

Nobody can stop him! NFL prospect Cameron Skattebo ran over an entire defense

While Ashton Jeanty may be the name getting the most attention, Cam Skattebo is a player who could contribute from day one for whatever team drafts him.

Cowboys have shown interest, but new team enters the frame

At the recent NFL Combine, Skattebo tested off the charts in the broad jump and vertical jump. His vertical leap of 39.5 inches was fifth best overall and second best for a running back, while his broad jump of 10 feet three inches was sixth for running backs.

As a result, recent reports have suggested Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys are keeping a close eye on the former Arizona State standout.

With Rico Dowdle gone, and the Cowboys turning to Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders in free agency, drafting Skattebo doesn't seem out of the question, especially since he is a great catcher out of the backfield.

Unfortunately for the Cowboys they aren't the only team intrigued by Skattebo, as according to NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo, the Arizona Cardinals are serious about him.

"I clarified that. It was a top-30 visit. I believe it already happened, too," said Garafolo on the PHNX Sports YouTube channel.

"The local visits usually happen when you have a [dedicated] Local Day... They didn't want him to be part of that. It was more of a, 'Hey, we really feel good about this guy. We'll have a top 30 visit.' Which is a much different, more in-depth visit that you have with a guy. So that was a Top-30 visit for Cam Skattebo.

"There's gonna be a lot of interest in Skattebo because he really performed well at the Combine. You know what the tape says. So a lot of teams want to go in-depth with Cam."

Time will tell if the Cardinals interest is real, or if the Cowboys have a clear path to land one of the most intriguing running backs in the draft.
