Things are going well for the Buffalo Bills after an offseason that saw several big names leave the team. However, Khalil Shakir is one player who is now making the most of his increased role.

The wide receiver caught all six es thrown to him during Monday's blowout win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, continuing what is a stunning streak.

That means that Shakir has now caught the last 27 es that have been thrown his way, tieing the most consecutive targets caught by a receiver since 1991, which is when targets began being tracked.

Michael Thomas of the New Orleans Saints also caught 27 consecutive targets back in 2018, though should Shakir catch the next ball thrown his way, he'll stand alone with the record.

Shakir emerging as Allen's No.1 receiver

The Bills said goodbye to the likes of Stefan Diggs and Gabe Davis this past offseason, which prompted many to wonder whether the offence would struggle.

That hasn't been the case, with Shakir stepping up in their absence to become a key receiving threat for the team.

"I could say this over and over, [Shakir's] a freaking football player, emphasis on football," Allen said, via Ryan Miller of the Democrat & Chronicle.

"He loves the game. He does things the right way. He's so selfless in his approach throughout the week. He may get two es during practice. He just keeps finding ways to be in the right spot at the right time, and he makes plays.

"That's just kind of his M.O. I freaking love him. I'm so proud of him and his trajectory that he's gone in his career so far."
