Whether they wanted to be the center of attention or not, the Cleveland Browns have flung themselves into the national media spotlight this summer. While putting an end to Shedeur Sanders' catastrophic draft slide, they also invited nonstop coverage about the franchise and the ongoing quarterback competition that seems likely to drag on for months.

Rookie camp gave us a glimpse into the competition, with Sanders and Dillon Gabriel going toe-to-toe. Then came in veterans Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco, muddying the situation. Deshaun Watson's injury status makes things even more murky. Sanders has been a consummate professional so far, developing bonds with his fellow rookies and veteran teammates. But does he have a bone to pick with Gabriel?

Sanders was asked by Kay Adams what makes him stand out from the other quarterbacks on the team. He says "we're all different characters", then goes into detail on each of the veterans. But he didn't have anything to say about Gabriel, which raised some eyebrows.

Will Shedeur Sanders take Tom Brady's advice and use draft slide as motivation? | Speak

"It's funny going there and seeing Joe [Flacco] every day. It's funny seeing him because at practice I'm like, 'Wow, I'm really with Joe Flacco right now, we're on the same team!'"

"And then of course, with Kenny [Pickett], the experience he has being in the league for these years. It's cool just seeing the process of it."

"And Deshaun [Watson] of course, he's active in there in all the meetings so it's cool talking to him."

To be fair, Sanders and Gabriel are theoretically in a competition against themselves, as both want to prove they were the right pick in the most recent draft. There's also not much Sanders can take from Gabriel yet, as he's a fellow rookie and has just as much NFL experience as Sanders.
