Bengals kicker's girlfriend stirs up trouble because she's a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader

Cade York's girlfriend must choose between rooting for her NFL team or her boyfriend as the Dallas Cowboys take on the Cincinnati Bengals on December 9, putting the cheerleader in a tough spot.

Zoe Dale works at the AT&T Stadium for Jerry Jones' team and was surprised to learn York was activated from the practise squad to take the place of Ewan Mherson, who landed on the injured reserve list with a right-groin issue.

"My girlfriend is actually a cheerleader for the Cowboys," York told reporters ahead of the clash. "And she got baptised on Sunday so that was awesome.

"Literally the next day I got a call that I was going to work out for the Bengals and they were playing on Monday. I was like 'Well Zoe, I will see you at home no matter what.' She's going to be cheering for me.

"She's already told me second and fourth quarter is when she's on the visitor side. I'll have to sneak her a couple of smiles."

But Dale's already looking to strike a middle ground to remain in the good books of both of her ions as she posted, "Go Cade, Go Cowboys" to social media. We'll see how it plays out if the Bengals run out winners.

Who is Cade York?

York's activation from the practise squad means that the Bengals are now the second team he will start for in the 2024/25 NFL season after previously being cut by the Washington Commanders after missing field goal attempts against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

He then remained a free agent for three months, in his third year since going undrafted, before linking up with Joe Burrow's team.

He previously played alongside Burrow with the LSU Tigers in the NCAA, as the pair claimed the CFP national championship in 2019, with him being named as an SEC All-Freshman and second-team All-SEC.

York previously had spells with the Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans and New York Giants and has made 24 field goals from 34 attempts (70.6%), with his longest field goal being for 58 yards.
