The Dallas Cowboys surprised the entire NFL with the announcement of the g of wide receiver George Pickens as part of a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers (for a 2026 third-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick), in order to put him alongside CeeDee Lamb as the ideal WR for the times to come in the world's most important sports franchise.

And of course, such news was going to start to make waves, both inside and outside the team, as well as in circles of former players who were part of the Lone Star team, such as former wide receiver Dez Bryant, who knows a thing or two about this.

Bryant is 'fan of Schottenheimer'

Bryant seems to be one of the most enthusiastic after the announcement, because in recent hours he posted on his X , his pleasure at the hiring, assuming that it is a decision 100% made by the new coach, Brian Schottenheimer, who came to fill the gap left by Mike McCarthy, for the new season.

And he did it in the most transparent way possible, calling himself a 'fan' of Schottenheimer, perhaps to prepare the team and its owner, Jerry Jones, for a new desire, one of those that looks distant, but not impossible: to bring running back Nick Chubb from the Cleveland Browns.

It is a fact that upon his arrival Schottenheimer has been trying to strengthen the team's roster in order to change the narrative and once and for all seek to reach the Super Bowl after so many years of not achieving it. And this hiring is focused on that course.

Dez Bryant wants more...

The first step has already been taken and George Pickens will surely look to make a difference from the start, but Chubb would really be one of those game-breaking moves, and Byant knows it, so his call was realistic: "Since we ask for a lot... listen to me too," Bryant wrote and accompanied it with a GIF of the requested player.

Pickens led the Steelers with 900 yards on 59 receptions and three touchdowns last season, numbers that excite Cowboys Nation, who would see, like Bryant, the arrival of Nick Chubb as a sure thing to get to Super Sunday, and to heal all the toxicity that still remains in the Dallas environment.
