Travis Kelce receives a gift that concerns fans
During Super Bowl LIX Opening Night at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, Kelce was part of a group of players and coaches from the Kansas City Chiefs that answered questions from podiums throughout the event.
Head coach Andy Reid, defensive lineman Chris Jones, quarterback Patrick Mahomes, wide receiver Xavier Worthy, kicker Harrison Butker, were part of the Kansas City that also talked to the media.
During one of the questions, Kelce received a gift from a Mexican reporter who wanted to give the tight end two soccer jerseys from Club América, the current local league?s champions that recently won its third consecutive title.
"Travis, you have a huge fan base in Mexico, we love you there, and I have a little present for you from Club América, the three-times champion from the league that wishes you the best and they hope that you can achieve the three-peat." the Mexican reporter said.
The young journalist also had a jersey for Taylor Swift with her name on the jersey, something that Kelce found funny. "Shoutout to everybody down in Mexico, I miss going down there, Mexico City was a beautiful city to play in and hopefully we get to play there again. I had a blast going down there when we went a couple of years ago and I'm hoping the NFL gives us another chance to go down there and play again." Kelce replied.
Not all fans were happy with the presents Kelce got, though. Some social media s expressed their concern over the fact that Club América, which has a huge fanbase in Mexico, also has a lot of haters and its presence generates dislike across the country.
"Please don't do that to Taylor Swift." an Instagram posted it. "That was some really bad taste right there." another replied, which clearly indicates a lot of people don't like Club América. "Those jerseys would be great for mopping the floor." another one posted. "As a Club América & Niner fan, I don?t claim this energy." posted somebody else.
Mahomes and the Chiefs are excited for the Super Bowl
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes discussed his thoughts on where he stands when it comes to the greatest quarterbacks of all-time, a discussion that ignites a lot of ion among NFL fans.
"I'm trying to be the greatest Patrick Mahomes that I can be. That's obviously a goal of anyone's - to be the greatest at their profession - but in order to do that, you have to be the greatest that you can be every single day," Mahomes said. "Whenever I'm done with football, if I leave everything out there - the way that I feel like I have so far - as far as effort and mentality, I'll be happy with the results."
