Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby has shown his softer side by publicly ing a close friend who is going through a battle with cancer.
Crosby was nominated for the Walter Payton Man of the Year award in 2023 and of that nomination he said: "Every single day I wake up, I'm focused on making an impact and growing-not only as a human but by helping others improve their lives and giving them better opportunities."
He is doing his best to live by those words now, as he has shared a public message on Instagram which tells the story of his close friend who has been dealing with cancer for a long time. To accompany the story, Crosby simply added the word 'soldier'.
The friend in question is Marko Ulaj and he regularly updates his friends and family about his cancer fight on social media.
Crosby's downtime
Entering his sixth season in the NFL, the four-time Pro Bowl defensive end recently gave followers a rare look at his off-the-field personality, celebrating with friends and family.
Crosby, known for his tenacity on the field, was seen enjoying himself in a series of snapshots and videos. Sporting a Los Angeles Lakers jersey, he puffed on a cigar and hit the dance floor, embracing the energy of the moment.
The post also included a special feature-his brother Myles Crosby, a fashion model, posing alongside him.
The celebration caught the attention of many, including Deion Sanders Jr., the eldest son of Hall of Famer and Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders. Sanders Jr. left a heartfelt comment, showing love for Myles.
"My dawg Myles!," he wrote, acknowledging their strong bond.
Before becoming a dominant force in the NFL, Crosby played college football at Eastern Michigan. Despite coming from a lesser-known program, his relentless work ethic and high-energy play caught the attention of scouts.
