Philadelphia Eagles' legend, Jason Kelce, has slammed New York Giants fans for their response to Saquon Barkley's performance against them as the ex-Giant crushed his former side on Sunday, October 20.
Barkley, a running back, had spent five years with in NYC and became a two-time Pro Bowl player before heading to Pennsylvania to start afresh after penning a $37.75 million deal with the Eagles.
And as he returned to the MetLife Stadium for Week 8 of the 2024/25 NFL season, he spared his former colleagues no mercy by rushing for 176 yards and a touchdown from 17 carries in a 28-3 smashing on his old stomping patch.
As a result, the home fans were not too happy and lashed out at him online as players, such as the Dallas Cowboys' Micah Parsons, hit out at the General Manager of the organization instead, and now Kelce has backed up Barkley too.
"For the life of me, I don't understand why Giants fans hate Saquon for what happened," Kelce posted to social media. "And not the Giants organization...
"They have absolutely no one to blame other than the Giants ownership and management decisions for why he is no longer a Giant."
Eagles take second in the NFC East
Part of the added sting of Barkley's exit to the Eagles is the fact that the pair compete in the same NFC division, the East.
So as the Eagles eventually ran out winners by a margin of 25 points, it ensured the Giants remained slumped at the foot of the division with a .286 record (2-5).
Meanwhile, Kelce's former team moved into second place (.667/4-2), ahead of the Cowboys, who sat out Week 8 on their NFL bye.
