Despite the New York Jets' growing number of losses, head coach Robert Saleh remains committed to keeping Zach Wilson as the starting quarterback.
This decision came after the Jets' 15-10 loss to the New England Patriots. During the game, Wilson faced significant challenges and struggled, failing to throw a single touchdown .
"Yeah, he's fine," Saleh said.
"We're still early in the season. We knew that even with Aaron [Rodgers] at quarterback we knew that there was gonna be some hiccups along the way because of the new offense. The new play-caller, the new [offensive] line, just new players on the offensive side of the ball.
"Now you've got this curveball that was sent to us and so they're acclimating. They're gonna get better, but it's still very early in the season."
The Jets had recently experienced success with a win against the Buffalo Bills in Week 1, but since then, their performance has declined, resulting in two consecutive losses.
In the game against the Patriots, Wilson completed 18 of 36 attempts for 157 yards but was sacked three times, losing 24 yards in total.
Although he avoided throwing interceptions in this particular game, he had been intercepted in the first two games of the season.
"It starts with me. I have to find a way to be better," Wilson noted.
"We're gonna go back and watch this film. We're gonna find out all those things and find out how we can improve."
