Carlos Alcaraz, at 20 years of age, is making his debut in his first ATP Finals. The player from Murcia, who starts as the second seed, qualified last season but only travelled to Turin to collect the cup for finishing as number 1. On Wednesday he met his opponents in the round robin.

Daniil Medvedev (3), Andrey Rublev (5) and Alexander Zverev (7) fell to Carlitos. While Jannik Sinner (4), Stefanos Tsitsipas (6) and Holger Rune (8) will have to face defending champion Novak Djokovic.

Alcaraz will make his debut against Zverev at the Pala Alpitour in Turin on Monday 13 November, but not before 2.30 p.m. because a doubles match is scheduled for 12 noon. It will be the first of three matches he has to play in the round robin that qualifies the top two in each group.

The German is the seventh seeded player and is tied with the player from El Palmar in number of victories, three for each. The last one was won by Carlitos, in the quarter-finals of the last edition of the US Open.

Zverev was the last, along with Rune, to get the ticket to Turin. Hubert Hurkacz's defeat at the hands of Grigor Dimitrov in the quarter-finals of the Paris-Bercy Masters 1000 eliminated him from contention and put the Hamburg player in direct contention.

As was the case with the last edition, Movistar+ will be in charge of broadcasting the ATP Finals 2023. All of the Masters Cup matches can be followed on #Vamos, M+ Deportes and the new Movistar+ channel. The clash between Alcaraz and Zverev will start no earlier than 14:30.

All the information about the tournament can also be followed on MARCA.com with live coverage of the matches, reports, reports and statements from the protagonists.
