UFC two-division champion Jon Jones suffered a tendon tear in his left shoulder just days before hisfirst UFC Heavyweight title defense against Stipe Miocic. Upon his return to the octagon for his first-ever fight in this weight class, Jones faces Ciryl Gane for the belt that was left vacant by Francis Ngannou. Those typs of injuries can be considered career-threatening but Jon Jones is not giving up. In fact, he made the decision to document his entire journey back to activity that includes his recovery process. On Thursday afternoon, the Heavyweight champ revealed his plans to all his followers on X. With a series of tweets, Jones described the process he will undergo.

Can Jon Jones make a full recovery?

Generational athletes such as Jon Jones can literally do what ever they want when they suffer injuries like the one he has. As an example, New York Jets' quarterback Aaron Rodgers is gearing up to make his comeback from a different type of tendon tear. On the first game last season, Rodgers completely tore his Achilles. Jon Jones's injury is far more difficult to come back from but he still feels confident-enough to document everything he does from now until his return. There are still no time-frames for the fight against Stipe Miocic but these tweets mean we are getting closer to Jones stepping back into the octagon.

In a couple of tweets, this is what the UFC Heavyweight champion wrote: "I'm interested in documenting the next few months. To come back from two surgeries, one being major, rehab my body into being elite again. Defending the UFCs heavyweight championship. Truly a great feat and an awesome story to be told. Let me know if you're interested in documenting this epic short story. I've always been incredibly private throughout training cams, I'd be willing to open up and let the world see what it takes to be Jon mf bones Jones."
