For a few weeks now, the entire UFC world has been clamoring for the mega fight of all mega fights to happen. Once Alex Pereira defeated Jiri Prochazka on short notice during UFC 303, it was pretty evident that theBrazilian star is thirsty for as much glory as he can get. Even his trainer revealed in a later interview that Pereira wanted to fight on the very next UFC event. He was already training at the gym on the next week after defeating Jiri. The man is a bonafide savage and he is now aiming to be the next great opponent for the current heavyweight champion who is recovering from a shoulder injury. We are talking about Jon Jones. Before any of that happens, Jones needs to recover, fight Stipe Miocic for that pending assignment, and potentially fight Tom Aspinall for the unified heavyweight championship.
Keep in mind that Aspinall is currently the interim UFC Heavyweight champion while Jon Jones recovers from his tendon tear. However, there might be a chance in which people can enjoy this mega fight before lal of that happens. Currently, there is perhaps only a couple of people who can influence UFC chairman Dana White to push for a fight. One of them is former president Donald Trump, the other one is none other than Joe Rogan. Apparently, Joe has been using his influence to persuade White to entertain this idea and let those two monsters get inside the octagon. That confirmation just came from the man himself on Wednesday.
How is Joe Rogan trying to influence Dana White?
Dana White sat down with Shaquille O'Neal for a new episode of 'The Big Podcast' to discuss many topics. For Shaq, asking about this possible mega fight was a no-brainer. Here's what Dana revealed: "It's a possibility. [Joe] Rogan has been pushing me right now to try to make that fight. It's just, guys, let me explain something to you. Jon Jones is a whole other level. Jon Jones is - I consider Jon Jones the greatest combat fighter of all time. When you talk about the [Muhammad] Ali's and the this and the that. Let me tell you what, I got Ali's picture hung everywhere. I love Muhammad Ali. I love Mike Tyson. Jon Jones is the nastiest dude ever in history."
