Jon Jones is currently trying to clarify what his intentions are by the time he decides to return from the injury he suffered earlier in 2024. He was supposed to fight Stipe Miocic, the best Heavyweight of all-time but he suffered a shoulder tendon complete tear that has kept him out of actiity for several months. For now, he is still recovering from what could've been a career-ending injury for other fighters but it became only a new challenge for him. While he was recovering, we had Tom Aspinall turning into the interim Heavyweight champion and he has been calling out Jon Jones for a while now. As a response to Tom, Jones has always kept it real and given him multiple back-handed compliments despite his great results.
In a recent UFC event in Manchester, Tom Aspinall defended his interim title against Curtis Blaydes and he didn't even break a sweat. Clearly, the most exciting heavyweight at the moment is him but Jon Jones still hasn't given him the respect he probably deserves. The most recent comments about him was while analyzing a new wrestlng video that emerged of Tom Aspinall going strong in the mat against a training partner. Jon Jones said: "Looks like Tom displaying that amazing UK wrestling. My focus is on stipe, he actually wrestled division one. Best heavyweight of all time as of right now. Maybe Tom will go on and beat stipes record one day, right now I'm focusing on goat things."
Has Tom Aspinall responded to Jon Jones' diss?
As a response, Tom Aspinall took an old quote from Dana White where he praises Jon Jones as the best ever and did a skit on it. He also kept taunting Jon Jones by saying he is old and by stating that perhaps his dominance in the heavyweight division retired him. Aspinall won't give up until he gets that chance to fight one of the fighters he ires the most. But don't confuse iration with fear, Aspinall would take Jon Jones any day of the year. Not sure if that's the same case if the situation was reversed.
