It's no secret that Donald Trump is a big fan of the UFC, plus he has a friendship with Dana White, the president of the MMA company.

Dana has already talked about his close friendship with the President of the United States, he has even participated in some of Trump's activities, plus he has no problem with the criticism of this, he is 100% behind him.

On the other hand, Cain Velasquez has a legal problem that was quite a media issue, the Mexican-American was arrested in March 2022, Velasquez shot Harry Goularte, who was accused of sexually abusing Cain's son, in his attempt to shoot him he hit the stepfather.

Cain spent up to 8 months in jail until the judge finally decided to give him bail to get out, but the case is not over and is still pending.

Khabib's manager, Ali Abdelaziz, was the first to speak out in of Velasquez, calling out Donald Trump as the perfect man to end this issue.

"Trump must pardon Cain Velasquez," Khabib's CEO wrote on his X .

A debate about Ali's request was generated in the reply section, but others also have their doubts about the whole situation.

Can Donald Trump really pardon Cain?

As president, Trump only has federal power and can only pardon federal crimes. Cain Velasquez's crime appears to be a state crime, and only the governor can pardon. Fans on the Internet responded to a post by Abdelaziz on X suggesting that Trump might negotiate with the governor of California to pardon Velasquez.

According to various media reports, Velasquez's trial has been rescheduled for January 24, after many delays over the past year. We can only wait and see what will happen and if Donald Trump can get his hands on this case with Gavin Newsom, governor of California.
